Arizer Solo 3 vs AirVape Legacy Pro Review: Glass-Path Session Device vs Slim Hybrid Portable

Short answer: the AirVape Legacy Pro is a compact, hybrid-heated portable with a gold-plated chamber and a swappable battery. The Arizer Solo 3 is a bigger, all-glass-path handheld with long runtime and a huge range of replacement stems. Choose the Legacy Pro line if you want a small device with spare batteries; choose the Solo 3 if you want a simpler, glass-first session device you can tune with stems.

We sell the Arizer Solo 3 V2.0 but not AirVape devices, so the AirVape details below come from AirVape's own listings and independent retailers. Please note that AirVape has since released the Legacy Pro 2, and much of what is written online mixes the two versions together.

Design and portability

AirVape lists the Legacy Pro 2 at 119 × 52 × 21 mm with a ceramic mouthpiece and removable glass air path. It is slim and pocketable. The Solo 3 weighs 280 g according to Arizer and takes a glass stem that sticks out of the top, so it is more of a palm-sized handheld. If you mainly want something you can slip into a jacket pocket, the Legacy Pro wins. If you are happy with a chunkier device in exchange for glass and battery life, the Solo 3 is the better fit.

Heating

  • Solo 3 V2.0: Arizer specifies an 80% convection / 20% conduction hybrid heater with 5–15 second heat-up and temperature control in 1° or 10° steps. It has Session Mode and On Demand Mode with adjustable presets.
  • AirVape Legacy Pro 2: AirVape describes a hybrid of convection and conduction, ready in about 15 seconds, with adjustable temperature settings and a colour screen. Retailer pages for the first Legacy Pro list a 93–227 °C range, and one review of the Pro 2 describes a session and an on-demand mode; check AirVape's current page for exact figures.

In practice both heat quickly. The Solo 3's real edge is in how well it handles longer sessions; the Legacy Pro is aimed at people who like to dip in and out.

Vapor path and materials

The Solo 3 keeps vapor in glass from oven to lips. The Legacy Pro uses a gold-plated chamber, a removable glass air path and a ceramic mouthpiece. Both aim for clean flavor, but the way you personalise them differs. On the Solo 3 you change the stem: shorter for a warmer, more direct draw, longer or bead-filled for a cooler one. On the AirVape you work with the parts the brand supplies.

Battery

Arizer Solo 3 V2.0 AirVape Legacy Pro 2
Battery Internal; not user-replaceable Removable 18650, 3,200 mAh
Runtime Up to 3 hours, or 100+ On Demand draws (Arizer) Third-party reviews report about an hour of continuous use
Charging USB-C PD, use while charging USB-C
Warranty Lifetime heater, 2-year limited, 1-year battery; glass excluded Lifetime limited when registered within 30 days (AirVape)
Size Palm-sized handheld, 280 g 119 × 52 × 21 mm

The Legacy Pro's removable battery is a real advantage for anyone who likes to carry spares. The Solo 3 gets the edge if you would rather not think about batteries at all.

Ease of use and maintenance

The Solo 3 has very few parts: a device, a stem, a screen and a cap. Rinse the glass in isopropyl alcohol, brush the oven, and you are done. The Legacy Pro has more small pieces to keep clean, including the ceramic mouthpiece and the removable air path, which some owners find fiddly.

Accessories

Solo 3 owners have a big menu to choose from. A few good places to start:

Everything is in the Solo 3 collection. If you want to understand why the stem is such a big deal, read how the Arizer airflow system works.

If you are cross-shopping, it is also worth checking which generation of Legacy Pro a listing actually refers to. Retailers still sell the original Legacy Pro alongside the Legacy Pro 2 and the newer Legacy Core, and their specifications differ, so read the listing carefully. With the Solo 3 there is no such ambiguity: the current model is the V2.0, and every official Air and Solo stem is compatible with it.

Verdict

Choose the Solo 3 if…

  • you want long runtime with minimal fuss;
  • you want to customise cooling and capacity through glass;
  • you value a straightforward routine.

Choose the AirVape Legacy Pro line if…

  • you want a slim device with a gold-plated chamber and a swappable battery;
  • you are happy to trade some runtime for portability;
  • you are willing to check which Legacy generation you are buying.

Recall note: the June 2026 Solo III battery recall is limited to the Intergalactic (Black) colourway with specific serial prefixes. See the official details, summarised.
