Crafty+ and Mighty+ Blinking Lights, Bluetooth and App Connection Problems
Share
A blinking light on a Crafty+ is usually telling you about the battery. Blue is the charge level, red and blue together means the battery is too hot or too cold, red and green means the USB-C cable is unsuitable, and red and orange means a device error that needs the service centre. If the Storz & Bickel Web App will not connect, use a Web Bluetooth browser (Chrome on Android, Windows and Mac, Bluefy on iPhone), switch Bluetooth on, and follow the manufacturer's reset steps below. The Mighty+ works differently, because it has a display and button controls.
This guide follows Storz & Bickel's own support pages. For charging faults and error codes, see our Mighty+ and Crafty+ not heating or not charging guide, and for charge times and care, the battery guide. More device guides are in the Storz & Bickel hub.

1. Crafty+ Light Patterns
The Crafty+ has one button and an LED display, and the colour of the light is the message. Storz & Bickel's support pages list these:
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Steady blue (charging) | Fully charged | Unplug and use it |
| Slow blue flashing (charging) | 61 to 96% charged | Leave it to finish |
| Rapid blue flashing (charging) | 31 to 60% charged | Leave it to finish |
| Blue flashing (charging) | 30% or below, or empty | Keep charging |
| Red and blue blinking | Battery temperature too high or too low | Let it cool down, or warm up naturally |
| Red and green blinking | USB-C cable is unsuitable | Use an original Storz & Bickel USB-C cable |
| Red and orange blinking | Device error | Turn it off at once, disconnect it from the charger and do not attempt repairs |
"Crafty+ blinking blue"
Blue is the battery colour. While the Crafty+ is on the charger, a flashing blue light means it is charging and shows roughly where the battery stands, according to the table above. If you have just switched it on and it flashes blue, check the charge level, because blue is the only colour the support pages link to battery state. Storz & Bickel also notes that you cannot operate the Crafty+ while it is connected to a power source, and you can only switch it on again after charging.
"Crafty+ blinking green"
The Crafty+ support pages do not describe a green light on its own. The only green pattern they list is the alternating red and green blink, which means the cable is unsuitable. If you see something not in the table, check the manual or contact Storz & Bickel's service centre rather than guessing. Older Crafty manuals describe different colours for heating and ready states, so do not apply those to the Crafty+.
The Crafty+ operates between 5 °C and 35 °C according to Storz & Bickel, and it takes about 60 seconds to heat up, so a cold device in a cold room can look slow or throw a temperature pattern. The Crafty+ has been discontinued, according to retailers (see our explainer), so ask Storz & Bickel about service availability early if the red and orange pattern appears.
2. What the Mighty+ Display Is Telling You
The Mighty+ has a screen instead of colour codes, and the manual describes what you see:
- Six charge fields: all six showing means the battery is full. While charging they flash in ascending order, faster with a supercharger.
- Slowly flashing battery frame: the battery is almost empty.
- Two temperature readouts: the target and the actual temperature while it heats. A double vibration means the base temperature has been reached.
- Slowly flashing set temperature: the booster temperature has been reached. A quickly flashing set temperature means the superbooster temperature has been reached.
- "SLO" on the second line while charging: the charger is low-powered, so use a more powerful one.
- "dct" for three seconds: the charger supports mains (pass-through) operation. The battery is not charged in this mode.
- ERR 001 to 005 or "bl": an error code, explained in our troubleshooting guide.
3. Web App and Bluetooth Connection
The original Storz & Bickel phone app is no longer available in the app stores, so the manufacturer now provides a browser-based Web App instead. It is optional: Storz & Bickel says its devices work fully without the app, using factory settings. With a Crafty+, the Web App lets you:
- Adjust the base, booster and superbooster temperatures
- Switch the vibration motor on or off
- Dim or disable the LED
- Extend the auto shut-off timer (the manufacturer lists this for the Crafty+ only, up to 5 minutes)
- See the charge level and operating hours, and change between °C and °F
Use a browser that supports Web Bluetooth
This is the most common cause of a failed connection. The Web App needs a device with Bluetooth Low Energy and a supported browser:
- iPhone and iPad: Bluefy, or WebBLE (which does not support firmware updates). Safari is not on the manufacturer's list.
- Android: Chrome, with Location Services switched on. Android requires this for Bluetooth Low Energy access.
- Windows: Chrome or Edge.
- Mac: Chrome.
A Crafty appears in the browser's device list as "Storz&Bickel" or "STORZ&BICKEL", per the manufacturer. If several devices are listed, the signal strength shown beside each name rises as you move the phone closer, which helps identify yours. The Web App is a progressive web app, so once you have visited it you can use it offline and even install it on your device.
4. If It Will Not Connect: The Manufacturer's Steps
Storz & Bickel gives this sequence for a device that will not connect:
- Reset the device (see section 5).
- Power the vaporizer off for 5 minutes.
- Turn off both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Turn Bluetooth back on, and only Bluetooth.
- Make sure no other Bluetooth device is connected.
- Open the Web App, then switch on the vaporizer and connect.
On an iPhone, also update Bluefy to the latest version. If your Android phone still finds nothing, check that Location Services are enabled, then restart Chrome and try again. If the problem continues, Storz & Bickel's support team can help with a description and a screenshot.
5. Resetting App Settings on the Crafty+
Settings made in the Web App are saved on the device. To clear them, hold the power button down. Storz & Bickel's Operation page says to hold it for 10 seconds, and its Temperature Settings page says about 5 seconds, so hold it until the device confirms. It confirms with red, green and blue running lights and a vibration. This restores the factory presets of 180, 195 and 210 °C. It is a settings reset only, and it will not fix a charging or hardware fault.
6. Does the Mighty+ Have an App?
Treat the Mighty+ as a button-controlled device. Its manual describes setting the temperature from 40 to 210 °C with the plus and minus buttons on the unit, and it has no chapter on pairing with an app. Storz & Bickel's own information is not fully consistent, though: its Web App page names the Veazy, Venty, Crafty, Crafty+ and Volcano Hybrid and leaves out the Mighty+, while a general portable-devices page describes the Mighty+ as Web App-compatible. If you cannot make a Mighty+ connect, that is a good reason to ask Storz & Bickel support before spending time troubleshooting your phone.
Final Thoughts
Most blinking lights and connection problems have simple causes. On a Crafty+, read the colour pair, remember that blue is the battery, and use an original cable. For the Web App, a supported browser and Bluetooth settings fix most failures, and the manufacturer's reset sequence covers the rest. A Mighty+ shows its status on screen, so check the display and the error codes first. For spare screens and fitting parts, see the Mighty and Crafty accessories collection.
